Keep a Smile on Your Faith™

NEW women's retreat offers energy and insight
Believing. Trusting. Hoping.
This is how most women would, if asked, define faith. Some may even quote the Scriptural benchmark: “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1).
Push the point further by asking how to have faith, and you may hear some stammering followed by the lonely sound of crickets chirping.
But there are two women for whom the word how is like the sound of a starter’s pistol. Debi Stack and Fawn Brents, both gifted in teaching, tackle the word how with more gusto than a shopoholic at a bargain bin. They have prepared fresh material for women called Keep a Smile On Your Faith.™
“Fawn and I recently sat at a restaurant and talked about Christian platitudes like ‘Just trust the Lord’ or ’Let go, let God ’ or ‘Keep the faith,’” says Debi, a humorist, author, national speaker and media guest. “Honestly, hearing those makes us a little crazy because even when they’re said with good intentions, they don’t equip women with the nitty-gritty specifics of how to trust the Lord; how to let go; how to keep the faith.”
Teaching the topic of faith is the natural next step for Fawn and builds upon her popular homework-free practical theology series for women: Blueprints of Truth for a Well-Built Life.™ “In Blueprints we learn why the Bible is reliable and how the character of God applies to daily life,” says Fawn. “Those are foundational to understanding faith, but women don’t have to have taken those classes in order to attend the retreat. Every woman should come with high expectations to hear new teaching that will radically empower her to live by faith.”
Women can expect to have these essential questions answered with Debi and Fawn’s hallmark style of practicality and punch:
- Why is faith so important to God?
- What does it mean to have "mustard seed" faith?
- What are the steps to “begin to believe”?
- How can I reconcile feelings that conflict with having faith?
- It hurts too much to keep hoping, so why even try?
- What is my part in passing on a legacy of faith?
Besides dynamic teaching, the retreat includes generous small group interaction and surprising departures from traditional retreats that no woman should miss.
